The product is being designed to support safer between-visit consistency, symptom awareness, and progress tracking. It does not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, certify disability, replace clinician judgment, or guarantee recovery outcomes.
Optional camera or local dexterity flows, and any future AI-assisted summaries, are for support and tracking only. They can be wrong or incomplete; they are not a diagnosis, treatment decision, or safety clearance. If output conflicts with how you feel or what your clinician told you, follow your clinician. See also the health data notice.
Stop and seek professional care immediately if you experience:
- Severe pain that does not improve with rest
- Worsening or new numbness, tingling, or weakness
- Loss of motor function (cannot move a finger you previously could)
- Signs of infection: drainage, fever, spreading redness, warmth
- New deformity, sudden swelling, or color change
- Any new or unexpected symptom after surgery
- Symptoms that wake you from sleep and persist
For life-threatening symptoms, call your local emergency number.
Post-surgery use
Post-surgery users should follow surgeon and hand therapist instructions before attempting any new exercise or routine. Clinician-approved plans always take priority over app guidance. The app's phase gates are conservative defaults, not personalized prescriptions.
Not legal, insurance, or certification advice
HandTherapy.app does not provide legal advice, insurance advice, medical certification, disability determinations, or reimbursement guarantees. Personal recovery records may help organize information for your own use, but they are not formal legal or medical documents.
Educational content + citations
Learn-section articles cite primary sources (AAOS OrthoInfo, ASSH, peer-reviewed literature). Citations are for educational context and are not endorsed by the cited organizations. Always defer to your clinician when guidance differs.
Contextual notices in the product
On some screens you may see a collapsible "Legal notices" panel with short reminders tailored to that feature (for example country reference data, travel planning, weather education, or a guided exercise session). Those panels summarize how to interpret that screen; they do not replace this disclaimer or your clinician's instructions.
Acknowledgement
By joining the waitlist or using HandTherapy.app, you acknowledge and accept the limitations described above. See also our terms of service and safety standards, and the health data notice.
